Default Cox Sky Copter .020 Engine

Hello All,

I was wondering what you all know about the Cox .020 engines that were used on the Sky Copters. Was this a reed valve engine or was it just a NVA back plate with out the reed. Also can you just attach this back plate to a Pee Wee crankcase and have a working engine? Performance wise how do these .020 engines compare to the .010 Tee Dee, and the .020 Tee Dee ?

Thanks for any replies.

Darren

It was just a PeeWee with a backplate to use in the Copter'. Still a standard reed valve.

Didn't they have a stronger crank for some reason?

I read somewhere that the needle valve had a finer thread than a Pee Wee. Jim

Some early ones has a full Pee Wee with attached metal tank and backplate. Body was a bid wider. Later ones had a clear plastic fuel tank to feed the engine. The cockpit on these were very thin. Best running .020 I ever had was on a Sky copter

I've got a bunch of these. They are a PeeWee with a plastic backplate and a small external tank.
