Default 41 yr old throttle

Hi. Has anyone here had any experience with this type of Cox throttle? It reminds me of one that was presented here on the forum a while back in that it uses a barrel with an opening that rotates inside a larger tube, sort of the way a carb barrel operates. Sorry I can't remember who developed the one shown here on the forum. Anyway, it looks like a simple solution to the throttling problem, though I have no idea how well it worked.

Ok, I saw the throttle arm and just assumed that the barrel rotated like an r/c carb barrel. I see now how it worked. Thanks.

Similar to a ROTO-VALVE exhaust throttle I had on a FOX 15 powered Live Wire Trainer (1959).
It was a single channel rudder only ship with "Quick Blip Hi-Lo"engine control.
All control was by rubber band powered escapements.

Ah, it was David Fritzke who was working on the tube-within-a-tube throttle. I couldn't remember at the time of my post:

When I saw that old Cox throttle I thought it worked on the same principle. Similar, but one rotates and the other slides.

rainedav - I have a cox engine with that exact throttle set up. It seems to work great, I don't have any numbers, but is does idle down amazingly well. My uncle gave it to me, he does not remember the details as he bought it when he was a kid.
