Default Wanted: PT-19 plans

I love PT-19's and am collecting plans. Please direct me if you know of any.

Here is what I have so far:

Easy Built 35"

Dumas 17.5"

Peck Palmers 13"

I just got thease on Ebay: [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&item=290018753396&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1]Mechanix Ill. 1945 plans[/link]

Someone out there has thease in full size and I would love to find them. They are the most detailed scale plans I've seen so far. I'm going to try and blow them up but they will be kind of fuzzy since they are so small in the magazine.

Thanks,
Treven.

Mechanix Illustrated and Popular Mechanics both published some
bang-up construction articles over the years. Gotta wonder what happened to the
originals though. House of Balsa had(s) a PT 19, they may sell you some plans, and
Sterling made one too. The best may be the Chuck Hollinger one that was in American Modeler
way Way back (mid 50's),
I'll see if I can find that issue. Nice Cal Smith painting of that plane on the cover too.

And how about Earl Stahls?

Chevy43,

I don't have access to them right now, but when I do get my paws back on them, I have an original set of plans for Chuck Hollingers 72" PT-19. I think they are Hobby Helpers from the '50's. Hollingers version is a fantastic starting point as it has a very accurate structure down to the correct airfoils of the prototype. It flies on a .35 and 3 ch, and should be a good, gentle floater with all the wing area it has.

I plan on having them copied to I don't damage the originals, so for now you'll have to drool . When I do have a few sets run, I'll run a set for you.

Dave,

Is it the plans you have, or the magazine article, or both? I'd love to get a copy of the magazine article to go along with the plans. I think the plans consisted of 3 large sheets printed on both sides. Hollingers PT-19 is on the list of planes I intend to build in the not to distant future.

It looks like Model Airplane News had a set of PT-19 plans in 1954. Anbody have that issue?

I found the 24" Earl Sthal plan on line.

It looks like the Chuck Hollingers 72" plans are availibel online here:[link=http://Online plans]http://www.myunclewillies.com/index.html[/link] Look on Page 25. Thats a pretty big plane. I knind of like the smaller ones. Thanks for the info on those. I might be able to resize them.

RC Scale International (stopped printing last year) had a pull out set for a .40. I built it and love it.

Vicman, what is the wing span on yours? Can you post a picture of it? Are the plans availible?

63"

Sorry for the poor pic I haven't flown it in a year or so. You can check with Traplett publishing for plans. I had a .40 LA and had a hoot. Full throttle touch and goes the whole bit.

Dennis, Thanks, they have two different plans!

Nice plane Vicman.

I'm now going to have to build a fleet of PT-19's from 13" W/S to 62" W/S. That would sure look cool lined up along the runway!

Hogflyer,
I looked, I have the magazine with the Cal Smith painting of the PT on the cover, but inside
is a plan for a semi-scale CL stunter. My database from Dick Gleason indicates that I have
the Chuck Hollinger plans, I''ll look up in the rafters tonight and see if I can spot it.

If you want a control line version then get a copy of the Dave Hemstraught PT-19 plans. The plane was kitted by midwest Models in the 60's. I had one and it's a great flyer.
