Guys...anybody got any decent pictures? A buddy and I want to build a couple of 'em but (even after a search ) I can't find any good pictures...
Anyone got the plans, or does anyone make a new version of the kit?
I already have one set of the constant chord wings (got 'em from Quantum a few yrs. ago )...really, all I need is a good profile shot to give me a good reminder of just how one looks...(I could go by memory...but...after 30 years...well, you get the idea...)

RE: Upstart
Any of you guys got any of these wings? They're pretty much like the originals, except they have dozens and dozens (maybe hundreds?) of "pimples" all over them from the injection molding process...PIA to sand off...but, whadareyagonnado???
I made a scratch built (my own design) job a few years ago...
I very lightly kissed the surface w/ (IIRC) 220 wet/dry just to roll off the "pimples" and then put a light coat of water based polyurethane on, and the next day very lightly sanded w/ 600 and they're as smooth as a baby's you know what...
I have a TD .049 and a 5 X 3 gray prop and a quart of "Missle Mist" all ready to go...

RE: Upstart
Raindave, I'm going to be cutting some cores this weekend for a pattern plane I'm working on, and I think I still have my old templates for the Ace constant chord somewhere. If you want, I can cut you a set and either mail them to you or bring them to the Fun Fly in Burlington. I have white expanded foam and also the denser (yet heavier) Blue and pink extruded foam to choose from. Let me know, Tim

Dave you don't owe me a thing, I get the foam for free and wire will be hot anyway! If you really want to repay me in some way, just don't laugh too hard when I pile in a plane or two at the Fun Fly! I'm thinking if you want to dissolve the core after sheeting it, the white foam would be the best choice. I'll PM you this weekend after I get em cut. I should still have your address filed away somewhere too. One of these days I'll get better organized Tim

Anyone interested in a new kit of the Upstart?
dfturnock (Don @ Eureka Aircraft ) PM'd me and said he might consider also making an Upstart kit as well as the Eyelash and Mach None [8D]
