Hey Coop, not much in the way of ARF's unless you convert a parkflyer..there are kits..Quantum models and thundertiger4u carry the Ace simple series ,,there are a few mistakes on the ttforu site..about 10 models ...Rog
most all of them are for .049-.07

The 1/2A Shrike:
Pros:
Wicked quick
Inexpensive -- $25 from [link=http://www.quantummodels.com]Quantum Models[/link]
A real hoot
No setup time at the field -- fuel and go.
Cons:
Wicked quick
Not a second plane or for faint of heart
Can be a handful on launch - will snap if not on your toes
Non-standard construction due to thru fuselage spar and wings being built integral with fuselage; must be careful with alignment
Due to speed, flutter can be immediately destructive
Internal space is tight

Coop you wanna stay away from the shrike...until your 5th plane or so... the low price also reflects the $20 worth of hardware your gonna need to put that thing together..the other thing I didnt pro in with the simple series is they have some of the best (well most complete) hardware packages in the business,,I'm sure anyone who's built one will agree...Rog

this is the other site, a bit strange to navigate go to manufacters and go to Ace and then click on aircraft..a bit better descriptions of the planes...

Coop,
On the other hand- if you have much flying experence the Shrike as a blast and maybe the best airplane for just speed fun there is.
Put a Norvel .061 on the nose of the 1/2 A and it goes were you point it- great fun to race as well.

Coop --
If you want fast, but on a more conventional planform, look at the ACE Simple 400, Lanier Dominator 200 or the SIG Hummer. The Simple 400 and Hummer are available from Quantum Models. Tower has the Dominator - may be built with a V-tail or conventional R/E.

Start at 20 to 22% of chord, then move back if you want more pitch sensitivity. If it is a little squirrelly, your CG may currently be back a little too far.
I'll compromise with Hogflyer at 25% --
Check your present percentage -- if it's a handful now, I would move it forward.

Thanks - excellent info -
Ok I am new at this - what would you recommend for starter - are you using standard starters or 1/2 a starters - where is the best source for decent yet reasonable starters.
I was using a friends starter last night
thanks

cooper,
I was afraid it was only one aileron. In your case you have it on the wrong side of the wing. You want it so it's on the outside of your lap so the drag it makes helps keep your nose up as you make your turns. As for CG I would start at 25% also.
LAter,
Tim
