Where to find plans -
I scratched built a pylon racer with some success and decided to rip the wing off my old ME-109 and start building a fuse for it - I am starting to think about the rudder and elevator and was wondering if there is info out there that would help me.

Not sure what you're after here Cooper. You haven't really asked for anything specific.
If it's what size to make the tail to go with the ME109 wings then I'd suggest you just make them the same size as the originla ME109 ones or perhaps just a hair larger. But be sure to keep the tail length close to the same as the ME109. Shorter tail lengths require larger surfaces and vice versa.

RE: Where to find plans -
Sorry guys - I am new at this - mostly flying ARF's but after the scratch build I thought I would try this project - the ME109 was (the ME was an ARF) powered with a .28 Magnum - I was thinking of using the wing that is in decent shape and build a smaller fuse with tail and stab.
What I was after but did not explain very well is - are there plans available that could guide me on making rudder / elevator - stab.
Also interested in plans for the basic scratch build as I am new at this but enjoy building.
thanks for any info

Simple, just copy the ones off the ARF but make them from 3/16 light balsa sheet. If you don't like the shapes then alter them but keep the overall sizes roughly the same and the span to chord ratio about the same.
If you want to study some plans to get some ideas then look in the Scratch Building, CAD and 3D forum for a sticky with links to free plans to download. Bear in mind that many of the plans are crude and some are incomplete. But what can you expect for free. If you want the good stuff then you need to order up the magazine plans and pay for them.

Why not just convert it to a flying wing? Put a couple of tip fins on it, stuff the radio gear inside the wing and run the ailerons like elevons. The idea could work well for 1/2A power if the wing is light enough. You would need to cut out the landing gear supports to reduce weight.

Not being rude, but you're looking in the wrong place. Take a look where Bruce points. There's some excellent links and some terrible links, but you will have fun looking! Here's a decent link. http://www.willingtons.com/mymac/Plans_Download.htm

Thanks for the link and info - I am new at this - probably on the wrong forum also - but the pylon racer got me started with the Norvel .061 - it is a blast to fly but still breaking it in and learning on it
thanks for all the info guys

Coop, there's a link to the scratch building forum. This (1/2a) forum is a little eclectic because it follows anything SMALL from plan to ARF. The scratch building forum takes over when you hit .15 or so cubic inches, but is only about building from plans/scratch and designing a new one.
That Norvel is going to spoil you! Better pick up a Cox to keep yourself challenged...
