Down loaded a free plan off the elec zone site ( Slipso-400 ) and scaled it down to 22" wingspan.
Spec/s:

W/S- 22"
sq in- aprox 80
Wing- 3/16 balsa sanded to shape
Servo's- 2 Dymond 4.7 gram ( great servo's )
Rec- castle microstamp lite
Motor- Medusa 12mm brushless ( great motor- check out the site and motor calc )
Spd Cont- castle thunder 9amp brushless
Batt- 480 2 cell lypo
Prop- Black 3 x 3 gws

Should be a test flight this weekend and will let you guys know how it goes
Still love nitro, but love to play around

That thing is tiny! The HS-55 looks like big in comparison!

Pt,
That's not a HS-55 - that servo is about 1/2 the size of the 55 w/ as much or more power.
It is tiny, but hope it rips

Schu, pretty plane. Good luck with the maiden. With the size and probable speed, you will want to keep that thing close. With my aging eyesight, I would need to keep it so close that I would scare everyone in the pits! pt would probably say I already do that!

Looks good Schu... it's small but should be a rocket at 4oz and brushless power. Good luck....!

Ray,
Not going to make it- hoped to pull it off, but some things got in the way.
Will try to get a digital short of one of the flights and post.
Wish me luck
Hope you guys have a great time- wish I was there- post some pic's - maybe someone has a digital movie camera to record the races?

Looks awesome, DALE! Me and Scuddy have talked about getting a brushless option going. Your work is only 1/2 done, now you have to convince the CC that your harmless little electric plane qualifies as a reede valve racer. I would just gut a BABYBEE crankcase, make a phony aluminum cylinder, and run the brushless motor in the empty crankcase. The COX engine might make an efficient heat sink?

Dale,

Don't listen to CP. I think he just wants to embarass us good ole country CC boyz. One of ourn own JCAC (Smithfield, NC) dudes (who has come to one or two of Rog's thangs. I hope he seez this and comes over on Saturday) flew a "stock" brushless, 1/2A size wiz bang of a model that would have put to shame the fastest "unlimited" model I've ever done seen hyar 'bouts. Woo doggiees it were a quick 'un!

As for hiding a lekky via a Baby Bee case, I'm pretty sure a feller whose handle hyar 'bouts is DemonLeather did just that. Didn't he bring it to the last BARKS swap meet?

Schu,
You never posted a flight report.
I'm getting started on one of my own. Any pointers?
