Default I just ordered a couple of models from....

... one of our RCU site sponsors. Nitro Models at http://www.nitroplanes.com/.

I'm going electric on this one but I thought I'd mention it here since I know a lot of you convert the new breed of electric aerobatic models over to glow. I don't know where the prices came from but this sweet and super light looking little ship is only $50.

.... and I also bought a 46 powered thing that I know none of you want to hear about.... and one of their cheap brushless motors... er... and a speed control.....

.... I feel so... "dirty"... well, no I don't since I won't get all icky oily from the electric stuff...

I'll follow up on this whole deal here once I get my order.

Beautiful plane! Bruce, the time you save with building will get spent checking for warps!! They must be very good at not introducing stresses during the covering process.

I think I remember a few posts somewhere about some bad experiences with nitro planes. Their planes look good, but I would say check them well and don't put anything tooooo expensive in them.

There was some question as to whether or not Nitroplanes was the new name for Raidentech, known for their questionable quality..the last I heard it was an entirely diffent business and people were happier with their purchases....Rog

He had them all hid when I visited the barn. But I still have my suspicions too.

The hobby stores and fuel depots can't keep up with my demand for fuel, so electric power is for when I'm waiting for another tanker truck to make it over the pass.

I will have to admit to a bit of instant impulse buying in this case. But for the money involved it won't be the end of the world if they turn out to need some mods to improve things.

Twice before I secumbed to the lure of the ARF siren's song, been harshly dissapointed and sworn never to go ARF ever again. This will definetly be strike three. This time it's either a home run or a full on strike out for ever after. Time will tell....

Just consider me as your hard working guinea pig....

And if this doesn't work out, sometime in the future you'll find something else you want that happens to be an ARF and you'll jump on that one too...........once the addiction takes over, well you know what happens...............

Well, you only get 64 1/2A flights from a gallon of fuel. []

I watch the ARF guys unload their flight boxes
containing three different kinds of adhesive
and a large roll of tape. That is my guidance.
the only ARF that I own is a 1/2 A sized daschund.

Well, I can't say that they are terribly quick on the shipping. Ordered on the 7th and placed at Fedex on the 10th. OK but not the fastest. Compared to another supplier where I ordered on a monday or Tuesday and found it waiting for me when I went to my border pickup service on the next Saturday. So it'll be next weekend before I pick up the shipment.

That trainer is the one Raidentech offered, the Start 40 evolution 2...it is a brick, dont order it, I have seen them for as low as $29, never weighed it but I would bet it is 6-7 pounds, and it took 2 weeks to get mine....Rog
