RE: Tiny Stick
Wild Foamy, I don't see any power stats on those servos, but you want something that is equivelant to the Hitec HS-55 minimum. Using that heavy engine is ok, but the battery may or may not go up front. When using a light Cox, the 270mah Nicd goes up front with a one ounce tank. Depending on your battery location and the tank dimensions, you may have a problem fitting everything. Don't worry though. A one ounce would still give good flight times.

RE: Tiny Stick
ok, so:
1oz Tank
Cox 049?
the servos are: (quoted from the site):
---
Jamara 6g
Specs:
Weight: 6 g
Speed 0,13 sec./60°
Torque: 1.3 kg/cm
Size: 21x11x21,5 mm
4,8 Volt
--
Jamara SP 4.4g
Specs:
Weight: 4.4 g
Speed 0,12 sec./60°
Torque: 0.6 kg/cm
Size: 21x11x21,5 mm
4,8 Volt
i figure that seeing as the servo only needs to open a carb it wotn need much tourque, and by using the 4.4g it saves weight
And fro elevators/rudder all it has to do is pull a flap of balsa wood about, so i figure 1kg tourque should be fine

RE: Tiny Stick
I have the same TT07 foamy, it will be better used on the bipe-stick, its only one more wing and still the same easy construction. And it handles good, have you seen Bipe flyers video of that i gave the link to?
Help me bring this tiny bipe to england

RE: Tiny Stick
Hitec HS-55 specs: Torque 4.8/6.0v: 1.1 / 1.3 kg. Weight:8 g.
I'd seriously consider the 9g version. Remember, it's not moving the ailerons that's the problem, it's having enough strength to change the shape of the airfoil and redirect the air. I've had a few problems with the 55's. Nothing serious, but they don't last as long as I'd like. (I do agree with the throttle choice if you make sure there's no resistance in the linkage)
You'll be surprised by the speed and agility even the humble surestart can provide on a light airplane!
Dan, get building! It's not a quick build, but not a long one either. Start a build thread and you might just get me in gear. I've had those plans sitting on my stack for a couple of years now. I've got a Norvel .074 that needs a home!

RE: Tiny Stick
How about the Stevens Aeromodel kit? Designed for electric but could be nitro'd no problem. Just glue or tape a throttle servo on there somewhere.

RE: Tiny Stick
UPDATE: just ordered some 3/32 balsa, no going back now, i will print off the plans at school as my printer at home is having paper-feed troubles, hoping to get the fuselage and tail section and maybe the top wing done for Xmas, then make the lower wing and finish it up...
then i will hang it in my room for half a year until i learn to fly and then it can be my 2nd plane/weekend/portable flyer!
pics to come maybe...
