Default APC 6.5 x 2.9 prop

Anyone have any experience running this prop on 1/2a engines?

APC lists it as a Free Flight prop for .10 size engines but I can't find a listing on Tower Hobbies site or anywhere else I have looked.

I am still fussing over what engine to my in my Twin Lizzi. I have thought of using a de-tuned Babe Bee and someone suggested a 7x3 to keep the revs down. A 7" prop I think is just wee bit large but a 6.5 would fit nicely. APC lists numerous 6.5" props but all with more than 3" pitch which would be too much.

I may still decide on using a Pee Wee with a Graupner 5x2 prop, my expected all up weight will be between 7 and 8 ounces but might end up being even less.

All this fussing over choice of engine has had me poking around looking for suitable props, lots of choice for the larger engines but not so for the 1/2a's.

cheers, Graham

1.5cc free flight is so popular maybe they can't keep them in stock...

It's probably going to work fine as a gentle sport prop on a Babe Bee. If they made a light hub thin bladed 6.5-2 or 7-2 for slow 1/2A models that would be nice, but as the world-wide market is barely enough to pay for the engineering I'm not holding my breath.

My vote if I had one would be 6x3 installed backwards
as if it were a free flight test. Power is about the same
as a Pee Wee.

I second the backwards prop setup. You'd be surprised how well it works.
