E-flite Brio 10 conversion to glow-what is involved
Has anyone converted an E-Flite Brio 10 to glow? Is the airframe strong enough to handle an OS 10FSR and what would need to be beefed up to handle the extra power? Are there any other better 1/2 electric ARFs out there to consider? I prefer flying glow but there are just not too many small ARF planes available these days.

Sherm, I converted a Goldberg 400 Tiger to glow with a Norvel .074,, that .10OS may be a bit heavy, not sure...anyway it flew great! but I got a glitch in the middle of a flight and it went in nose first..no repairs ,not enough left to put back together, so to beef it up enough to handle glow may make it a flying brick, I did have to make a small plywood u shaped motor mount and use triangle stock to hold that up...Rog

sherm24, this is exactly why building is so absolutely essential to this hobby. There are literally dozens - if not hundreds - of awesome, fantastic flying designs that will perform exceptionally well with your .10 FSR, glow powered designs that have already been proven many, many times over to be outstanding fliers.
It's just the plain and simple truth that if you only fly arfs you are severely limiting your glow choices. I'm not putting arfs down, I'm saying that you are missing out on 9/10ths of the hobby by only flying them. But, first decide what type of plane you want: pattern, 3D, sport, scale, speed or whatever. That will make your choice a lot easier.

I wonder if anyone has reproduced the Airtronics Warlock ?
I flew one for years with an OS .10 and it is one of my all time
favorites. It wasn't as fast as the TD .049 powered one but
the great throttle made it a lot more fun. Such a trouble free
engine begs for a nice 20 ounce airplane.
