Default CG for Baby Birdie

I have an old Bady Birdie that I am finally finishing (after 20+ tears in a box).

Does anyone have a set of plans with the CG listed? My plans/instructions snuck out of the box over the years.....bummer.

The easiest thing to do is add the tip chord to the LE and TE of the root, and the root chord to the LE and TE of the tip. Draw diagonal lines from corner to corner. Draw a chord line through the intersection of the two diagonals. Measure back 25% to 33% from the LE along that line to locate the CG.

The words in the instruction book are....Shift components as necessary until your model balances at the centerof the sparwhen supported on your pinkey tips.

I love this airplane... What are you powering yurs with?
Mine had a Medalion .09, no throttle.

I am going electric (yes I know this isn’t an electric forum). As the model was designed as a 1/2A I knew to ask here.

I fly behind my house and am sound conscious. I also had an Eflite Park400 handy.

I was VERY close to going Norvel, either the Big Mig .074 or AME .061, but with Norvel being in Limbo the last few years I decided to tackle the redesign/conversion.

I’ve had this model for so long, I’m really looking forward to finally getting it in the air.

Thanks so much for the info.

George

I for one would be really interested in it's progress. Leckie or Gas.

skaliwag,

As you have the instructions and some experiance....how did you hinge the elevator and rudder? They are so thin.....hinge tape?

Cheers,

George

I would have slotted in Tyvek and gone over the joint with the covering.
