Default Which is a better engine?

A friend of mine offered me a tee dee .90. The more we talked he has a Norvel .061 he'd sell me also. How does you opinion of a .061 wasp fit in with these two? I'll probably buy both, but just wondering which is the perfered engine for performance, starting, life span etc. If you had to choose only one of the 3 which wouild it be and why. Seems like there have been a lot of positive Norvel comments here.

There sure is a lot of simularities between the wasp and the Novel. Are they made by the same company? Terry

Cox .09 glow heads are getting VERY hard to find and VERY expensive when you do find them. A TeeDee .09 is a very light powerhouse of an engine but it also has no RC carb.

The wasp is a copy of an early model Norvel, but without as much power. The Norvel is a better quality engine and outperforms the wasp, but is no longer made, and as already stated, glow heads are nearly impossible to get.
The Cox 09 is also a great engine, but no throttle. Being a bigger engine than the other two, it will haul a larger plane around the sky, but only at top speed, or glide speed when the fuel runs out. Cox heads are also hard to get. Not sure about heads for the wasp, but I would assume they are available because it's a current production engine.
Don't be too put off by the lack of available glow heads. There are several head adapters on the market to fit easily available glow plugs onto Norvel engines. Search the threads here and you will find the info.
