Default Is Carlson Engine Importers still in business?

I ordered some engines from Carlson Engine Importers, via their web page, on Oct 3, 2007. Got an email
with an invoice# from my order. Nothing since then. No response to my emails nor web mails. I've left a
voice message, too. It's been over a month with no response.

I'm wondering if it is time to call my credit card company about the purchase.

a buddy of mine ordered some MVVS parts (muffler, header, etc) from Carlson, and it took a couple of months or so before he got anything..

I made a total of 3 request for information after I placed my order, & received an invoice #. No replies to any of the requests, but kept checking my credit card account, & no charge against it from Carlson. Just figured that he closed shop. Then, 9 weeks after the order, the engine, & parts show up in the mail. No explanation for the delay. ................ Geo.K.

If you call Carlson on the phone he'll take your charge card info and ship in a few days. My understanding is that the website is run for Carlson by somebody else and that the service on-line is pretty unreliable.

I have made 4 orders in the last few weeks. The first order I made online, that order took maybe 10 days. The next 3 times I called him instead. Each time my parts and engines were on my doorstep in 2 or 3 days! If you call him and get his answering machine, leave your number and he will call back. He's a nice guy to talk to, and knows his diesels. His number is (602) 863-1684.

I have bought 6 engines from Ed, so far...

Thursday: today I ordered another diesel, make that 7 engines!

Yes, I found out today that what you say is true. The best way to contact Ed is by phone.

He returned my phone call from this morning pretty quickly, and gave me an update on my order.
He's very professional on the phone, and was easy to deal with. Seems like a neat guy.

Another vote for just calling him. I got my only order in short order after placing it. He's a good guy.

I called on a Sunday one time, expecting to leave an order on his answering machine. He happened to be in his shop and picked up. No problems with anything I've ordered.

I ordered a pair of PAW 19's from him last year via the website. No response whatsoever but I saw the purchase come up on my credit card the next month. I recieved my PAWs in perfect health another month after that ( I live in Australia) I checked the postage dates and they were sent promptly, they obviously were delayed by the postal service. Ed Carlson seems to be slow to respond by email but I trust him enough to make another purchase in the future.

As a denizen of the internet, I need to realize that not everyone lives via their email and web connection. :^)

I went to Ed's place one time I was in Pheonix. His operation is a bit like mine... A house with rooms full of stuff.
He ran for Congress once, perhaps he is on the campaign trail again

Remember those are long stroke diesels, don't run them on small props.

Hi,
I have been trying to buy an engine now for several weeks from Carlson.

The web is out of date, wont accept valid credit cards .

When I ring I get "This number is out of service" phone company recording.

Can anyone confirm Ed is still around?

Thanks,
Brian
