Aileron Horn for 2-56? (edit - found a substitute)
Forgive my ignorance...
Is this the correct control horn to use on 2-56 aileron rods?
Goldberg Adjustable Horn Bracket 1/16" (2)

RE: Aileron Horn for 2-56?
I've put 2-56 straight into 1/16 holes in nylon without tapping. It's a little more secure that way. If you tap the holes first I think it'll be more loose and tend to strip out easily. Just be sure to use a little pressure to get the screw started and perhaps use a longer one first so you can guage that it starts straight more easily.

RE: Aileron Horn for 2-56?
Took some scrap pieces to try this and I think this will work for aileron horns. I drilled a 5/64" hole on one side of the servo horn which the 2-56 threaded into and then 1/16" on the other side which was tighter but helps hold it in place better with a tighter fit. Thinking you could just drill both holes with a 1/16" bit and then bore the first hole slightly with the 5/64 to help start the threads.
Any reason this wouldn't work for a 1/2A plane?

I like the servo horn setup, that's cool. I had several packages of the 3/32 horns for 4-40 rods, but needed some for 2-56 rod., as I was fabricating my aileron linkages from pushrods and throttle cable sheathing for my electric scale combat birds. What i did was use the sheathing to bush the 4-40 horns. I drilled the 4-40 horns to accept the sheathing, scuffed a piece, shoved it into the horn and wicked thin cya into it. Once dry, they threaded onto the 2-56 rod just like they were supposed to, and I've not had one come loose yet. Not near as simple and elegant as the above servo horn conversion, but it worked for me..

Along the lines of the servohorn conversion, I've used converted #2 nylon clevises.
Just snip off the pin side of a clevis, thread/glue onto the aileron wire coming out of the wing,
and have standard rod & clevis from the servo connect to the 'hole side' we left on the clipped clevis.... a clevis to 1/2clevis connection.
It worked ok for my easy flying 1/2A, but I dont know it the single clevis leg will be strong enough for some of you guys getting quarter million rpm and mach 0.41 with your DNU or Sheetface. High performance needs better parts, so I get away with using utter garbage
I have also used the HOB style Smashed BrassTube With DrillHole, on music wire out of wing method.
