I just bought a 2 channel radio that can be used with elevons.
That got me to thinking. What would happen if you had elevons on the wing?
How about a V tail Littlest Stick??

On the Vtail that would be "ruddervators" but who cares....
There was a model of the Messerchmitt Huckebien (sp?) in an english magazine a while back that used actual elevons (elevators and ailerons) on the wings. But this is a layout that has a LOT of sweep in the wings and a small T stab. The designer treated the model as a swept flying wing with the scale sized stab and apparently it worked well.
But it would be less than succesful to put elevons on a conventional model layout. You really want a proper flying wing type or delta......
Mmmmmm...... delta...........

I guess on a conventional wing they would act more as flaps.
Anyway I thought it was neat to have this on a $50 radio.
I may have to try a V tail someday.

I have a 4.2 meter sailplane that I put spoilerons on. Spoilerons are ailerons that can both be raised simultaneously, if I programed the Tx so they when down also they would be elverons. What I found is the do indeed act as elverons, the plane pitches up when they are both raised, but and this is a big butt, it doesn't pitch up very much, you just don't have much leverage. If you used strip elverons it might have more effect, my spoilerons may be 1m of the 4.2m wing.
