I have a Whizard by Ace which I got on sale a whole bunch of years ago for about $7, and it is a bit damaged. So need to make a few replacement parts for it.
But... was there an article in some magazine all about them, or was this a strict "Straight to Kit" model?

I have a set of the build plans but it is all 1/2 size, so I dont know anything on them that would help..is yours 1 or 2 channels?...I might be able to get a copy, maybe not, problem is I used the back as cover to spray adhesive on another project, so I'm not sure they would go through a copy machine, still sticky....I could double size parts of it at work after the 5th ....Rog
Except the wing is an Ace foamie

Rog....
I still have the original plan which came with the kit. Don't need another.
Andrew...
I thought so, but was unaware that an article had been made about the Whizard. Only did a small search. So wonder what is in the text then? My formerly yellow Whizard resembles that as in the picture of the brown model.

First there was the Whiz Kid published in RCM in 1966.
Then the Super Whiz Kid in RCM 1969. Plan pl-403
Then the Dick's Dream kitted by Ace Radio Control 1971(not published that I know of).
And last the Whizard RCM 1974.
Look carefully and you will see they bear a remarkable resemblance to each other.

Andrew, Half-A-Hec has an image of it in his RCM Illusrtated Plans. It will tell the plan number.
Once you know the plan number, you might give RCM plan service a call and see.

Guy's,
I will check my RCM plans book and see what the plan # is when I get home. If you are interested in an 8-1/2" x 11" scan of the plans I can email it to you as well, just let me know.

Ok I checked my RCM plans book and it also is listed as plan #547. It calls for an Ace Foam wing as mentioned earlier.

#547 is for the Whizard. Do you have a plan # for the Whiz Kid? It should be less than 400 since it was published before the Super Whiz Kid.

Andrew,
I checked my RCM plans book and did not find the Whiz Kid. I found the Super Whiz Kid Plan # 403. The plans have a nice built up wing or the option of using an Midwest Foam wing and stab. Let me know if ya want a scan of the 8-1/2" x 11" plan.
