Default Cox .09 conversion heads?

With all the talk of conversions, etc.... has anyone done similar to the Tee Dee .09?

I recently aquired 2) Tee Dee .09's that were quite well used...I put new piston/rod assemblies in both of them, and now they have decent compression again.

Tee Dee .09 glow heads pop up on epay occasionally, but they go for even more than the Hi Comp. .049 heads...[:'(]

Has anyone got r.p.m. #'s for the Valentine, or any other head(s )?

I don't have any tach readings but have had good luck with the Valentine turbo and standard plug glow heads on Medallion .09s in general sport use. Since the stock heads were getting pretty hard to find when I aquired my first .09s, I just flew with plugged heads from day 1. I know this isn't the hard data you were looking for but I'm just sticking it out there for folks who just want a reliable setup without the hassles of searching for Cox replacements. It seems that the glow plug doesn't hurt the performance as much as it does on the smaller displacement .049s. Just MHO. I plan to fly one of them tomorrow, though the winds are forcasted at 20-30 and gusty.

BTW, I just love the raspy, snarly sound of a Cox .09 in flight.

Thanks Tee Bee...like your youtube vids...[8D]

I see the Valentine heads, but it looks like there are no more "Turbo" versions, just the std. plug ones...oh well.

I was thinking (hoping? ) the same thing...perhaps the .09 will be less fussy about chamber shape/volume than the .049?

Thanks LD
I've seen those, but they are actually for standard plugs, even though they say "Turbo"?

I busted up my green Pong today(the one posted on youtube). Should have known better than to fly it in such hard winds. When the fuel ran out, it couldn't penetrate forward and I had to dive it to the ground and try to flare it at the last second. A gust got it and busted off the firewall and broke the tail and wing. She's a good flyer so I'll get it fixed again. The Valentine-headed .09 survived unscathed.
