ORIGINAL: SnApRoLl-

Check out this dragster on e-bay. A little over board on the price? LOL

http://cgi.ebay.com/COX-CAR-DRAGSTER...item3ca82d3e77
It is pretty nice but that is the asking opening bid which may not be based on reality but expectation alone.
Still I was surprised to see one in this nice condition yet offerd without the glowhead! Now for a cool $150.00 (reserve not yet met) opening bid the same seller has a Cox Pinto dragster in at least as good condition WITH the glowhead! On ther other hand the rail job is a no reserve auction.

Hey guys,
I recently acquired a few .049's and am posting them for sale.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ___________
SOLD-1. Brand new Testors .049 complete with Tank, Prop, instructions and muffler. $28.00.00 shipped-SOLD
The above engine has been sold for the asking price.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ____________

These2 are still available
1. Used Testors/ Mccoy .049 beam mount style complete with tank, and prop. The spring starter slips but the engine runs like a Champ!! $28.00 shipped
1. New condition Testors .049 complete never run with tank for the Fly'em series. The cooling fins have a very slight ding but will not effect performance. $28.00.00 shipped. Or both engines for $54.00 shipped

__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________

Also I am thinking of selling my Testors tether car that is new and never been run. I will sell it for $150.00 shipped

Thanks[/color]

If I remember correctly, a muffler was included with one, if not all of the Testors Fly'em airplanes. It was a metallic, castleated, constrictor ring that fit between the cylinder fins and crankcase.
Either I can't remember or never did get the cylinder off of what I believe was a glass filled crankcase on the Testors .049's which would have been required for installation of the muffler.

Presentation of the product i.e. packaging of all those cool airplanes and cars was an adrenaline rush when there was a whole isle labeled "Gas Planes" at ToysRUs. I realize controlline is alive and well but to me, this airplane sort of represents the end of U-control for the masses and was intended to be only a collector's item from the outset as no control handle or dacron line was included...

I also have this Cox Extra 300 for sale for parts or repair. As you can see it's been crashed ( I tried to teach my wife how to fly.) but the sure start engine turns over fine and has good compression. I primed it with fuel and it started right up on the prime. I'm asking $25.00 shipped in the US only. I'm sure it could be repaired or it can be used for parts and a good engine.

If anyone is interested let me know.

Hey guys whats up?

I have a Used Cox .049 Dragon Fly with muffler for parts or repair.
$25.00 shipped in the Continental USA. The fuel tank needs a new, fuel fill tube, and a back plate and gasket kit (available from www.coxengines.ca the last time I looked ) and it should be good to go. Has great compression and has a modified head so that a standard glow plug can be used. I will also include a new in package glow plug as a free gift.

Canada residents can be quoted for shipping rates.

PM me for pictures if interested until I can get some pictures posted.

Thanks,
Shawn

Hi Scott,
I know, it's been a while. Well, my biggest problem is time, as always. I spread myself out pretty thin with too many projects, coupled with an ever increasing workload at my real job. I've not touched the cars in MONTHS. I've got a scale WW1 airplane thread going at two other sites, and starting a sailplane thread on another.

I think I left off on my tether car project needing a particular engine, which I have recently found (had parts to assemble one all along..). The project is a Gurney Eagle which I intend to run. I will have some time off next week and hope to get it started again. Sorry for the absence, I'll try to stay in touch better.

John

A REMINDER

IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO OFFER ITEMS FOR SALE IN THE DISCUSSION FORUMS. ITEMS FOR SALE MUST BE POSTED TO THE MARKETPLACE.

A few posts have been removed and a couple of close calls left. Offering to make a one off part for someone in return for a couple of bucks to help out with a project is OK but openly offering parts or items for sale is not.

If you read about someone in need and happen to have the item they need then PM them with an offer. Do not post it on the public forum thread.
