Default Bipe identification help please

I bought this bipe years ago , just to hang up cuz I like bipes. Lately my son has been bugging me about which bipe it is , I have no idea.

32" span , foam wing , ailerons on lower wing only.

It has an os max 10 on it

I was thinking it may have been an ace kit.</p>

I think that is right - I had one for a couple of years and used a OS .15FP - hard to get in the air at times ( point into the wind ) but crazy in the air and great fun.

I feel pretty good about it being an Ace All Star too.
Good eye SGC!

Yeah, it looks like an All Star Bipe. Had one in the mid eighties, didn't have any luck flying it. Didn't have much experience at the time.

Cool , thanks guys. Now my son can quit pestering me about it.
I guess the builder thought it better without the wing struts. My guess is that with the weight and span it can`t fly that well without at leasst a 20 on there.

So its not the greatest flyer huh? Any ideas why?

If anybody has a set of the plans laying around , I`d buy them.

Of course that os max 10 gives me a couple of ideas for when my eyes get bad enough that the true 1/2A and smaller stuff stuff is too small for me.

Actually, assuming the weight could be knocked down, how did the size - i.e. wing area and generally - seem matched to that engine? This is pretty relevant, I have a sport aero bipe on the drawing board with about 400 squares, aimed at the sport .15 type engine crowd. Trying to make it a lightweight design. Just looking for your impressions. The design is inspired by the old Baby Bipe design.

The last time I looked RCM still had the plans and Lazer Works had a short kit that was very reasonable.
IIRC the short kit had either a foam wing option or built up wing option............

Looks like a All Star to me as well. It looks like the wings have little dihdracl.., the one I built had a bit more. These were built for three channels, no alerons, would explain yours with a flatter wing setup. Your plane looks to have the tapered wings, my kit came with non tapered foam.

Mine flew quite well on a Cox .15, no throttle. A real windy day ended it's missions, a single large gust to be precise. The plans are in the magazine forum as to the issue it is in.,

Yes , mine has the tapered wings , having ailerons on only one wing can`t have muuch authority.
. I`m pretty certain you guys are right that it is the allstar , the upper wing pedestal set-up is a give away.

I downloaded the plans for a future project to shrink it down by 50 or 75% its too large for me to fly for a few years, until my eyes start to go.
