I have thought these small cannisters could be used for something and Have thought could be used to replace a lost Norvel muffler. As a fuel tank a little on the small side but maybe for a Tee Dee .020?
I have a recent discovery. TAG Body Shots refills. 3/4 oz volume and shown in comparison to one of the inhaler carts. This could be used for a fuel tank or a muffler pipe. Also part of a dummy torpedo or bomb, tip tanks, or even a radome? Cost from 5 to 7 dollars each twin pack but I checked on $BaY and saw two listings of three packs, buy it now, for $6.99. Just a little more than a doller each cannister.
Thin walled and light these could be quite useful.

Correction regarding the TAG canister volume. The package reads NET. WT. .75 oz(21g) each. The Volume must be closer to a fluid ounce or maybe a tad more.

Yes, it works. Here is one from a can which had de-icer liquid for car doors. Made in MVVS style and adjustable to find the right distance. Marker pens are useful and thin-walled raw materials also.
But the .049 cox breaths best when they're naked...

If you can make a motor cycle run on a pipe this little jem should be able to be tuned too. The movement and transfer of gases through a cylinder, pipe or chamber

Yes, sure any engine can in principle benefit from a tuned exhaust (even 4 strokes). But the exhaust timing is also important for the effect, how much exhaust opening does the cox .049 have?
Most cox engines also have SPI and so you'll have two events to time and tune...?

The only thing I found that increased power on a TD was a tuned pipe made years ago from Jeremy Chin's plans, and a header of my own making.
I experimented with small aluminum canisters and found they did nothing like a tuned mousse can muffler for a larger engine. Perhaps the scaling thing doesnt work when we get this small?

My idea has been to solder a block off plate on one of the exhaust ports and create a 3rd transfer port. Then solder a fitting to the other exhaust port that allows 1/4" ID silicone tubing to slip fit over it. From that point it would be a matter of trial and error [for me] to come up with a cannister that works.
A Pitts style that can tuck into the engine compartment behind the engine would work for me. Similar to the VA muffler.

After reading some of your post
I bet you will come up with some thing before I do.
The Ex. manifolds are simple to make, and you can rotate them any direction you want. Pitts style would be no problem. Just having the equipement to work with is the problem.

They are just Ertle farm tractors with Cox .049 engines on them. I will see if I can get soe Pic's and post them later.

back in the 70's they were real popular until they started putting large engines on them and took the fun out of the sport. JUST LIKE PLANE'S[:@]

Thanks for those pics Robert! Those are pretty awesome little machines. I thought I saw a Cyclon under one of them.
That web page was the best one I've seen so far, most are not real "visual".
Larry, I had no idea that they dated back so far. That's about when the real ones showed up on television.

I will try to dig out the box they are in and take some pic's . I have the sled and power boxes they use Jerrobee gears and clutches. I was a dealer in them back then
You would not believe it but the little tractors pulled up to 125 lbs on a 18 ft track.
