Norvel .061 Needle/throttle
I just aquired a BigMig. It a "cute" little engine and am going to use it to power a glider. I am familiar with 2 and 4 stroke R/C, but when moving the throttle lever the needle valve opens and closes at the same time. Is this normal. Most 2 needle carbs don't do this. I supose the needle moves richer when the throttle barrel is opened more to give more fuel? Thanks for your help.

Yes, that is normal for the norvels sized .074 and smaller. I believe the larger ones (15 and up) are more conventional. I am not not 100% sure of the mechanics of the throttle but I share your assumption.

I think the needle is turning with the throttle barrel. I don't think the needle adjustment changes. I had an old McCoy .19 that was made the same way.
