Good luck on your maiden!! One "trick" that has helped me on occasion is that if your Seawind begins to porpoise, cut the throttle back on the third bounce and then reapply slowly. Sometimes, if the bounce is high enough, you will be able to get things to stabilize and get the beast flying. And never, never, jam to full throttle near the water. The nose will dip and she will bounce. I tried this for a touch and go a few weeks back and blew out the covering over both landing gear cutouts.
If it really is a poor firewall angle you will have figured out something that has bedeviled the waterplane community for several years specifically what causes a Seawind to porpoise.
