RE: Flight training set-ups?
Thanks for all the input guys. I am on the other end of the trainer cord, with Frank Alvarez working with me so I can confidently slow down for landing with my two jets. You should see the bounces when you try to land an R-54 to fast. At any rate, we have been trying to get the trainer sytem to allow the student to have all trim functions as well as gear and flaps. I have a JR 9303 as does Frank. We worked on trying to get things lined up at the Maine Jet Rally to no avail. Ended up passing the transmitter around. I would take off and fly till it was time to land and Frank would land. I had heard from a Horizon Hobby Tech that keeping both transmitters in the "Master" mode and powering only the instructor Tx would give us the trim functions. Having recently bought a 12x because of a special deal from HH, I tried to use it as the trainer Tx (Franks' 9303 is currently not available to me) and it sorta worked but still no gear or flaps. It sure is a shame that JR, the supposed Gold Standard in R/C equipment has this shortcoming. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I'm not interested in swapping brands or bashing the other systems. I just want to get some training time under my belt so I can be confident with my landings.
