As an apprentice mechanic; my brother was bred since birth and encouraged by my dad to be a mechanic so he was able to make the big bucks (back in 1990-2007) pretty fast I mean he started at $5 an hour and within a month he was put on salary.
No offense taken; he just recently got laid off (8 months ago) by the Mitsubishi dealer he had worked at since 93 he was making more than service manager.
He just recently got hired from a Mitsubishi/Hyundai dealer and all I here from him every time I see him is that he's making a little more than half of what he used to make; he used to $75K (flat rate) a year.
