You ever see locals argue with the thruway authorities over removing toll plazas because they are left in 30 years after they paid for the road? Unless you live in a state where there are no tolls (there are a few) well then most know what I am talking about. Ripen someone's taste buds with the taste of money and it becomes more and more difficult to stop.
I would be curious to hear what the cost of the magazine/insurance was when this all started.
Wow...amazing you posted this. Not too many years ago we had the very same thing happen to us. They had left up toll booths for
YEARS after they were supposed to be removed and KNEW they were supposed to be romoved. They just kept it quiet and let the money roll in until too many got wise and brought them to the table for their actions. I am implying that this was in the millions upon millions of dollars, not a few hundred thousands as this was a busy interstate.
Now, my question is how come they did not refund the
stolen money to the people that used the tollway? Some say it was not stolen from us, I say how was it not stolen? You can rob a man without a gun, it happens every day. Greedy money grubbers!
