I live in a very damp area and never do anything to these engines except run them in planes a couple times a year. If there is enough castor in your fuel I don't see why you should have to do anything special besides adding a few ozs of castor to every gallon of store bought fuel.
Maybe in hot and humid areas the problem is amplified?
