THose are the same wheels I use. I modifed them by sanding off the tire portion and then made a master of a couple and cast them out of metal. I then found some slot car tires that fit to give me rubber tires on metal wheels.
You know that Mato sells just the suspension and track as parts now?. The boogies are about $30 and the track is about $40. I usually just buy the complete tank, because you end up so many useful parts off of it. Split hatch, cast hull, operating hatches
You really should try modifying the suspension to be fully functional. When they are sprung they glide so much better.

However I will say it does add some complexity to a battling tank. THe stock Mato suspension in rock solid. You start throwing in moving parts, etc and of course stuff can happen to it.
