I get this, however, why is this acceptable as an org or any business to find out just how much people will pay? I find more and more in our country we just allow it and move on.
I'm sure this dead horse has been beaten before, but I think this is where much of the AMA resentment spawns from,, there is no choice or competition,, We pay what they say it costs (period),, there is no free market competition for our business,
There was one fledgling competitor,, 15 years ago or so??, but they failed at the feet of a giant

If there is resentment, then it is unfounded. There are plenty of alternatives to the AMA. The USAMA comes to mind.
Yes, there was another fledgling competitor "at the feet of the giant"and they shoved a bamboo chute under it's toenail. Good way to get yourself stomped on.
