Default RE: My Discontinued Great Planes .60 Fokker DR1 Rebuild and Modification

The DR.1's left the factory with the Olive died streaked fabric in a diagonal direction. Several dies were mixed and then applied over the linen fabric. Once the pilots received their plane, the personalizing began and thus the varying colors/markings were seen. Jacobs mount was the one that was black with the demon on the side...hand painted. Most folks think that DR.1's are supposed to be red which obviously is not true.
I built the BUSA 1/4 scale version (mount 403/17)a few years ago and modded it heavily with GTM accessories. It turned out beautifully and is my all time favorite plane. It uses all pull/pull control with scale bungeed landing gear, skids, etc.

Are you going to be using fabric to recover? If I were you, I would make the LG taller as GP shortened them to make ground handling easier and it looks awkward. Good luck with your project....you have an opportunity to turn a run of the mill ARF into a one of a kind beauty!
