Here we go guys, a few pics of my setup.

I now recall the gt80 needs to set back by the thickness of the original firewall to allow proper alignment in relation to the cowl. Even with weight of the 80, I still needed to add nearly 8lbs of lead to balance as shown. All of my weight is added to the firewall and not the cowl ring. You will notice my canopy frames slot into the top of the rail and not the side as per the original plane. This was a error on my part, I was committed once I realised the mistake!!

My cowl has two ali plates inside which mount to the bulhead and are fastened with two small m4 hex bolts, accessed thro the dummy radial, as well standoffs which are plated with rubber for the cowl to sit on and small hex type srews go into these.
