I went to MMI (UTI) for motorcycles, graduated right after the stock market dumped as top tech and had to go right back to the old job I had before I went to school. The only difference is now I owe about $17,000 dollars in student loans. Awesome....
Sounds like me back in 2004 I graduated with a EET right when the tech sector crapped out. Our dean told us on graduation day he felt sorry for us seeing we graduated at the worst possible time, and are basically screwed. In 2006 went to one guys wedding and he invited 14 people we graduated with only 1 had a job in the field... Around me its a catch 22 for jobs in my field. You need 3-5 years exp to even get them to look at your resume, but the jobs are entry level they want that exp for...
Agree with TBJ go ask around. One of my distant cousins got a degree as a mechanic and he was a oil change jockey till the place downsized him to hire some kid for less.
