Default RE: New .90 gas engine (15cc)

ORIGINAL: brockettman

I've got about 90 minutes of run time on my engine. I'm using Poulan synthetic oil @ 20:1. My plan is to finish up the 1/2 gallon I started with, then go to a 32:1 mixture.

I have had very good luck with a 13x8 prop and have achieved a smooth top end at 10,400 rpm. Have not run very long at that rate but it seems to peak out very nicely so far.

Have gotten steady idle rpm of about 2200. Transition has been pretty good if I don't move the throttle too quickly. The engine is in my plane and I haven't done much mid range testing yet. I think I will move to a 14x7 prop, make a few more adjustments, and prepare to do some flying...

Still have quite a bit of blow-by, and I too am going to seal up the muffler... and re-do the muffler gasket.

Hope the snow doesn't come too soon...[X(] Our field is at 7200 ft.

You've got some nice rpm numbers there!

Do you suggest the engine as far as smooth running is concerned?
