 1937: With his brother Bill designed and built a Radio Controlled aircraft designing the model (Guff) and their own radio equipment

So AMA was here before RC.

Then around 1940, along came Jim Walker with his Control Line "Fireball". YUP other than FF the AMA was there in the beginning.

In addition Control Line has had a forum here in RCU long before AMA came up with a forum, but AMA was here before CL so is it not O.K. to just say they even out in that race?
Anyway, RC is the main thing this day, but FF, and Cl are still here. So if being RC makes you feel good, well so be it. However each discipline and all the sub-disciplines each have so many levels of skill and expertise that, IMO, those that look down their nose at anyone else for their different tastes, is simply demonstrating a personality that belittles their own character within this great and might sport-hobby of aeromodeling. No need to belittle any modeling discipline or any person's choice. We have government to contend with, not each other.
