Default RE: Great Planes Seawind

The technique for landing a full scale Seawind which I have flown several times is about the same as the Lake series of amphibians. Full flaps, 1/4 power and a slighlly nose high attitude approach. When the aft fuselage makes contact with the water, reduce power and gently apply full up elevator. This is also called a flat or still water approach. In f full scale seaplane when the water is very still is is hard to determine the height of the aircraft off the water. Any type of a flat approach as in a land aircraft is sure to produce a bounce, something you do not want in a seaplane, model or full scale. Norm
