Wow! Thank you everyone for your replies. Lots to think about. As I said earlier, better to work these things out at the planning stage so the more knowledge I can gather now,the better.

Had a quick look at the Telemaster line at lunch time. Seems to have everything I want.I'll have to take a closer look when time permits.

I'm not necessarily set on the SIG plane, although I have to admit the illustrated build thread was a big bonus.I do want a plane that satisfiesthe following criteria:well-proven trainer, kit form, electric powered, ailerons, tail dragger. I'm still open to suggestions and will be looking into the planes suggested so far.
