Default RE: RBmods IMDRA drag race record Kangaroo engines

ORIGINAL: PowerHouse RC Performance

Looking good Buddy! I have a guy out in Indiana that is running 1.51 @ 103mph with a toro nero that I built for him. He sais the flash I turbo cranked went 119mph and the kangaroo I did for him went 114mph in 132ft. I haven't seen the tickets, just going on what he said. Track record at the track he went to was 93mph and he re set it to 103 with the Toro and that has been verified. He is still working on setup but I see the car going 1.4's easily. Not trying to rain on your parade but I know we were talking quite a bit about building you an engine and I see you decided to go with Rick. His engines have been performing well for years so I can understand why you elected to go with him. Well good luck and maybe someday one of mine will run against one of yours[img][/img]

Hey man, how you doing? Oh you aint raining on nothing to me.

For one........you misunderstood me from the get-go. I have been using Rick of RBmods for 5-6 years now. I saw you make your advertising posts and said, hey lemme see if I can get with you and maybe we can make a deal and try one of your engines out. I will try anybody's engines out to see what I can get performance wise and if there's a ET advantage over the next racer. No pun intended but during our talk, you did say that drag racing wasn't something that you had did but you also thought that you could get an egnine to work out so I just stuck with the RB mod engines that I ALREADY had laying here and used them. You even made a great offer but with drag racing, it aint just stick a motor in and run spectacular ET's. You have to darn near tune the entire car all over for any given engine from weight, gears, tires by height and width, throttle servo timing, boat pipe tuning you name it.

Second......GREAT news for your racer making great ET's and MPH ..........BUT as we all know, you gotta post your video or ticket for proof........that's just the name of the game and I also will add that I have been drag racing RC cars for the last 6 years and have been EVERYWHERE and have NEVER seen or heard of anyone running that speed and it not being a record. Drag racing RC's is SOOOOO small that we all are very excited to see others in our group make amazing ET's or speeds out of these little engines and word gets around within minutes that someone runs anything fast or quick.

Third, more that likely "IF" he went those speeds and/or ET's it was with a "Top Fuel" rail...................I run Funny car that has to weigh at mimimum of 42 oz. heavier than a rail that can weigh as little as 36 oz.. Funny car is waaaaayyyy shorter too.

My 2008 RBmodded Kangaroo ran 1.56 at a NATIONAL event by a good friend of mine Melvin Alston and took the old record that was 1.604 this past August 2010 and "SET" it.........it's in the IMDRA books now, not he said, she said stuff. ET's is what wins races, not MPH......you know that.

Like I said the last time we talked, I will still try one of your engines out and if I put down a quicker ET, then you'll be gettin' plenty of work..

BTW, just a FYI to all modifiers and not to say that you guys cannot compete or make an engine work but the only drag modifiers that are always even there on site at the tracks and that everybody uses is RBmods, Murnan, Litespeed engineering, Greg Settles or Gary Puhg and that's it.
