Could this by chance be Vincent C. ?
On your smoke muffler question, no need to buy an aftermarket one just use what muffler you already have, just buy a threaded fuel nipple and drill and tap your old one to screw the new nipple in and there you go! Might cost all of 3 to 4 bucks to do so.
Get rid of the stock ignition ( could it be a Melody ignition or some name like that? ) and go to Agape RC ( Jim Willis)

and purchase a complete RC Excel system for around 50 bucks and you will be in business. Of course the above post said to use Milton and thats fine too. It will come with the ignition box, a new pick-up sensor and the wiring harneses, pretty much everything you need. Tell them what engine you have that you are wanting to swap out the ignition on so that they will know which spark plug to get you. Also let them know which plug is in there now as you may want to buy one or two for a spare.
It is not hard to swap one out, you will want the timing set at 28° before top dead center. If you need any help with this just shout at me.
The cranks themselves and bearing tolerances on some of these engines were not too good... dont get it running too good
