Default RE: Nitro DR1 tri-plane

The purpose of the long engine box is to counter act the weight of the servoe's and wire's, If the tail sevo's are moved up front, You might be able to cut the box off and mount engine directly on the firewall, Just a thought, Here's my GP version.

Very nice John.

As most of you know, I'm restoring and modifing my Discontinued GP Fokker DR1. It's JMHO that the GP version is better in quality and looks. I've been hounding Great Planes to come back with the DR1 and I hope the rest of you all do the same.

I wouldn't build the Nitroplanes/CMP (or what ever they call themselves) without making major reinforcement in many areas. I've had a CMP plane before and they are cheap even with the glue. And in my HO get rid of the stock hardware for heavens sakes! They are terrible.

It's true even in our hobby, you get what you pay for. I'm one of those who would rather- and would be better off building a kit than to buy anything from Nitroplanes/CMP

I'd taken the GP covering off the Fokker and I was amazed on how well it was built under the covering compared to most ARF aircraft I have stripped in the past. I'm going to continue to pester GP to come back with this nice bird.
