Yea,engine makes funny noise.I found the throttle plate was way off c enter on two of my DL 30s. Just loosten the screw about 1/2 turn and force throttle closed ,back out the throttle stop screw before y ou do this. Wiggle things around untill you get the best fit on the throttle butterfly. Tighten screw securely. Hold carb up to a light and see if you can light around throttle plate. If you can it is not centered or is not round.
