Managed to get alittle time in this weekend. With deer season and the holidays here, it's tough to get some build time in.

Got the side cowl panels cut and fit with the access doors scribed in. The door size, types and placement varies between the time and where the plane was manufactured. Carefull when using the plans as a template. The split between the panels should be between the top and bottom cabane mounts. Not exactly as shown.

Before I finished covering the horizontal stab, I added some 3/16" sq. bracing in the frame work. (See pic) The reason for this is if someone holds the plane back or if you stand in front of it and rev up the engine, you wont crack a joint loose as the leading edge of the stabilizer can flex quite a bit. I had that happen on my DR-I. It doesn't add hardly any weight and really strengthens it up.

Not sure what the full scale wheel size is. I'll have to do some research on that.
