You must realize that by doing this, you have no filtering at all on the power leads from the receiver to the CDI, right? The Opto you have may as well not even be there, because you are piping the CDInoise directly past it on the power leads........
On one of my setups, I'm using an MPi MK3 regulator with one 2600 2-cell Li-Ion battery feeding in it, and from that one line goes to rcv, the other goes to Opt Ign Kill unit. Better, or still not so good? Rcv & ign are seperated by the regulator, but have a common battery/source.
It sounds like there is still an unfiltered path.
