Default Is this correct?

Hello, I'm rebuilding a rc buggy that i'd like to call my own. I can only move the servo (steering). This is how its set up:

I have a windhobby servo.
I am useing 27 hmz reciver AM with 27.145 HMZ crystals.
I have a RC380 motor
I have a ansmann racing ESC Specs:
input voltage: 4.8 to 9.6 V
cells 4 - 8
Motor limit 12t
capacity 1 sec 50a
capacity 30 sec 38a
capacity 5 min 25a
frequency 3.4 KHZ
bec current 1.2a
weight inc wires 56G
dimensions L40xw36xH14

And i am useing a wing hobby battery pack for RC car
7.2v
1100 mAh
Ni-Mh

I've conected the blue wire up with the black and the yellow to the red, and i have the battery plugged into the ESC
The ESC to reciver wire is plugged into Batt plug. The servo is plugged into the esc on SERVO plug.
I turn the Reciver on then the car and all that works is the servo.

Where have i gone wrong? its built off of a windhobby ferret stuff mainly just a few things upgraded and replaced.

thanks Liam
