Congrats Darren, it looks like you have tied the speed record of a full bodied Stryker with yours. My dopplering shows about 185 mph average from both fastest direction passes. Does yours still have the air brakes ??
#1 186mph
#2 182mph
#3 188mph
#4 181mph
You know I won't tolerate air brakes on any of my birds!
Even if it bumps me into a "Modified" airframe category.
They're still kind of there. Just streamlined...
That's the only thing shaved on this plane, though, aside from the modified elevons and modified profile verticals that I'm pretty sure King Lymey is running.
I tried a couple more flights yesterday on 8x8 again and even 8x9, but high winds made it nigh impossible to line up for decent Doppler passes, and the speeds came out slower.
I'll have to wait for a calm day and try the 8x9 again, and maybe even
play around with some cut down 8.75-9" 40 Pylon props to get the thrust up.
Seems like every time I say that a certain diameter will be all I ever need, I find myself needing more! The next build may have to include widened vertical fin spacing, as the stock location will allow for 8.5" and no more!
