Default com size

To any one who cuts their own coms and has a caliper, how small can you cut a com and still have the motor run good. I measured a new one and it was 0.2906in. On my stock motor I cut it so many times it's now .2700in and I think it seems to be running a little slow. My guess would be around .275 is the limit before com segments begen short out too much when using lay down brushes. Would like to hear what other people think.
