This m,ight sound a bit nuts but if you willing to climb a bit its possible. An old special forces trick is to tie the laces of your shoelaces together with enough distance between them to go around the trunk about 2/3 of the way also use a short rope around the tree with one end in each hand. You can inchworm your way up holdinding with your legs while you raise the rope in your hands. Then use the upper rope to hold you in place while you inch your feet up.
