Claim a spot on the ground. Get a large and heavy door mat for start-up purposes. You kneel one one end and the prop is just over the other. This helps keep crap from being sucked up into the prop. It helps you to keep track of stuff that gets lost in the grass. I personally feel it is safer than having an airplane up on a bench. For me it's a personal choice and not a subject for argument.
