Ken,

The P-51 weighs +/- 10 1/2 lbs. depending on the prop used. THe 16x12 is a little bit faster, but the 4 blade is not far behind (maybe because the prop unloads more in the air even if it only turns around 7200 on the ground.) After break-in , it would try a 17x12 apc so they both would be in the 7,200-7400 range. I think the engine likes this rpm range. I like the way it handles with the 4 blade, better turns and much more control on landings. For this type of airframe, I take off at around half throttle so there's a lot of thrust with these props.

Attached here is a pic taken today at the field.

Updated photo of the 4 blade with the stock spinner modified for 4 blade. This is what I use to fly the plane.
