Default RE: Sachs 4.2 Carb Issue

OK gang, reviving an old thread here I know but.....

I have an A&M Sachs 4.2 GLOW with a walbro WJ7A carb on it doing the same thing. When the engine is running it continues to leak fuel through the carb intake..not at the spacer, at the intake...also the carb will leak fuel out with the engine not running. My first thought was to adjust the needle seat / arm & spring assembly to let the needle seat lower. Figured it was being held open some. Problem is that when I adjust it and get it to stop leaking fuel....engine doesnt run...This now points me to Low and High Needle settings....mainly low. As far as the running of the engine goes, when I put the needle seat back to where it originally was the darn motor runs like a TOP, low end idle sucks but mid range up is great.

I have noticed that the motor is kind of finicky to start...in other words a true pain in the @$$. Some times it cranks real easy, one flip backwards and off it goes, other times....you wear your arm out trying to start it. I'm hoping that fixing the carb problem helps with that.

Anyone know what good settings would be to start at on the low and high end needles or any other ideas???

Thanks in advance.
