i got my crimpers at safeway and they where like 2.50$ lol. but the seem to work good as i tried to pull the crimped wire apart but couldn't to it
so i guess there good

Yeah you could do it with a rock if you had to, But you can not get the same quality of crimp. This being said a good pair of crimper's last a life time and are more then worth the money.
